Rental kayaks & canoes are available for use on Lake Erie or the Portage River. We have sit-on-top kayaks, Fun Yaks, Sea Kayaks and canoes available. Kayking instruction and/or eco-tours on the Portage River can be arranged & leave from our Portage River Location. Our Portage River nature area is located aproximately five miles west of downtown Port Clinton across from the Little Portage River Wildlife area. A floating dock, especially designed for kayaks & canoes, makes launching easy. This is an ideal settings for kayaking, fishing and bird watching.

Attention Birders: Wildlife and birds abound on the river. The nearby wetlands are home to numerous herons, eagles, terns, egrets and deer. The eagles nest is nearby and the Eagles are often seen fishing the Portage River. Many birds are seen from land but a special experience awaits form a kayak or canoe as you slide quietly through the water and near the birds. You will also enjoy the beautiful wetland plants, grasses and flowers. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Little Portage River Wildlife area is located across the river and is considered a sattelite marsh of the Ottowa National Wildlife Refuge and Magee Marsh.
